Question, little help please

February 6, 2008

Why is it considered a more noble cause, one that encompasses the greater good for our nation, to send men and women to a far away country that despises us to help people that may or may not want out help and burn through billions, literally, of dollars while so many millions of men and women and children in our country lack food, shelter and proper medical care?

How can it be an acceptable expenditure for a Mormon to spend 35 MILLION dollars of his own money to only further himself?

While I don’t agree with the politics, religious views or much of anything with any of the candidates that are running for president I want to know as people, who are trying to get a job that means they are responsible for every single fucking person in our country, can spend millions of dollars of their own personal funds to further themselves while asking the people who are drowning around them for their vote?

When this is over only one person will be president and I would like to know when it is all said and done if the money they spent on their own campaigns to further their own careers was money well spent?

The price of getting ahead in this country seems ludicris to me.

So, my long winded question is how is it preferable to spend billions of dollars in a foreign interest when the people, the citizens of this country starve, are homeless and lost?

Whoever wins I hope they really enjoy their new set of dishes.

You know yesterday I was watching The View and they brought up the same question. And exactly where does all that money go? To printers to print up signs and pamphlets that we all throw away anyway? Wonder what their stance is on helping the enviornment with that kind of waste. I guess it goes to media outlets for commercials and those annoying telemarkers that call either early in the morning, late at night or just when you sit down to dinner. I’d love to see just one of the candidates put their money where their mouth is and stop spending so much money on promoting themselves and actually help out those in need.

Self-centered. That’s all we get for leaders. Narcissists. I give up.

To TIV and Tricia…I am not getting emails telling me you stopped by so I am replying here…

I know it is not but it seems weird to me in this day of information and knowing all that it wouldn’t seem unexplainable and terrible.

I think jackass politicians, the majority anyway, are far more concerned with the “perception” that they did something to help people more than they are with “actually” helping somebody.

(example) Getting their rich, white mugs on the front page of the paper walking through the ghetto is far more important to them than actually doing some tangible work in the ghetto.

And why do they always have to grab babies from the audience and hold them when the cameras are rolling? That’s a little off the subject, but that has always baffled me…

    I digress…
