Don’t look into the sun

October 2, 2007

There are those days that wake up and seem endless, lovely and tranquil. Sunlight is strong on your face and the sun warms your skin, shining in your eyes. Dry leaves float around littering the pale green grass and dark wet black road. The wind blows her hair and it is like spun gold her blue eyes sparkle when she is a mouthy so and so. Plans to make pretend cakes. Plans to climb something really tall. Watch this! Hey, over here.

And I all I can think of is slow down. Wait. Stop.

    “slow down. Wait. Stop.”
I don’t have kids, but I’ve had so many moments like that in life. Still do sometimes. Isn’t it amazing when you can capture them sometimes? Be it with words or images… I think you’ve done that very well here. Thank you.

And hey! Lee: watch it, I can see you talkin’ behind my back.

This is lovely, a poem. A post-card poem you could send to all you love. Imagine someone years later taking up a book, and finding inside this on the back of a postcard. On the front? A picture of this little one, unchanged forever. G
