I am not advocating murder or anything

May 24, 2007

I love NPR. While listening to NPR today they interviewed this guy who wrote a book about John Wilkes Booth and the fact that it has been bought to make into a movie. They discussed actors that might play Booth, locations, history of the event and then the trial of Booth and the other players in the historical saga.

Shockingly I found out there was a whole plot to kidnap him first and then came the assassination idea. There were many people brought to trial for Lincolns murder including Dr. Mudd — the doctor who patched him up and many others who helped him hatch his plans and escape that fateful night. It was fascinating and interesting to compare what happened to those criminals then and what might happen to them now.

They talked about other assignations of important figures which included John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr. and Bobby Kennedy.

I got to thinking about all the wonderful, courageous and forward thinking people that have been murdered and how different our country would be today if they were still alive to continue on with their work.

And then I thought of all the fucked up people (coughgeorgebushcough) that are still out running around doing the worst fucking things possible to completely fuck up our country and NO ONE tries to kill them?

I am not advocating murder in anyway but simply posing a question….Why is it hard to get rid of the assholes but the innovative thinkers are wiped right off the earth? It seems to me the crazy people who hate the nice people who want peace and equality are far more organized  than the crazy people who might hate someone who is flushing our country down the toliet.
