Flock of the asswipes is more like it

May 22, 2007

Tonight while working on my hangover I came across a new documentary on Showtime called , FLOCK OF DODOS: THE EVOLUTION-INTELLIGENT DESIGN CIRCUS”

So I know that there are a bunch of people, at least 3 republicans recently admitted, that do not believe in evolution. Esteemed steaming piles of poo like our president bush ( and yes I omit the capital letters on purpose lest ye think I am a complete idiot) believe that our Earth is only about 6000 years old.

(and more parentheticals…but, did that last site just make you laugh so hard you farted, just a little bit?)

I recommend you watch this documentary. I give it ***** for shedding light on the fact that while the people who believe in Intelligent Design may be a warm, fun and loving bunch of people they also could not find their way out of a paper bag unless it said jesus on it. I found myself watching this and listening to their “logic” explain why Intelligent Design is just as a real of a possibility —ha….— as Evolution. Evolution is just a theory yet to be proved. One nice woman from Kansas said, “Well, no one ever saw the lung fish climb out of the water so I can’t really believe it to be true” But she claims the bible and all the god stuff is real because people saw it and they were there, man!

Another interesting point they make, especially to children when they teach Intelligent Design, is that god is in the gaps of what we don’t know or understand about the universe. Therefore finding out more about science will compromise your faith in god and the universe is just too big anyway and we will never figure it out. So leave the gaps in understanding because that is where god is.

Truly I don’t care what other people believe as long as it does not harm other people. Denial of science and the suggestion that we are not some mythic type of creature above the nonsense of evolving is insulting. I would like to hope that with the aid of evolution all the people who don’t believe in it will just fade into history and take there cock-a-mamie stories with them.

As Bart Simpson said profoundly, “God-schmad. I want my monkey man”
